Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Announced for Nintendo Switch 2 — Release Date, Story, Gameplay & Special Edition Details

A brand-new chapter in the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave series is officially on the way.

A brand-new chapter in the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave series is officially on the way.

Revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026, bringing a new cast of heroes, strategic battles, exploration mechanics, and a tournament storyline centered around the mysterious Heroic Games.

Nintendo also confirmed a special collector’s edition called the Dagdan Collection, which includes exclusive physical items for longtime fans of the franchise. Here is a trailer exclusively at Yuri Game Store blog.

⚔ Enter the Heroic Games

According to Nintendo, the story takes place in Dagsion, the capital of the Dagdan Empire, where warriors from across the land gather to compete for the chance to have one wish granted.

At the center of the story are four protagonists whose destinies become intertwined:

  • Cai — a young boy determined to rescue his imprisoned father

  • Dietrich — a swordsman seeking stronger opponents

  • Theodora — a queen chasing the dream of her homeland

  • Leda — a musician driven by revenge

Each character follows their own path through the Heroic Games as larger conflicts begin to unfold.

🛡 Strategy Battles Return

Like previous entries in the series, Fortune’s Weave features strategic turn-based combat, where positioning, unit strengths, and special abilities can completely change the outcome of battle.

Nintendo confirmed players will be able to:

  • Recruit allies

  • Train units

  • Explore Dagsion

  • Fight monsters and bandits outside the city

  • Delve into dungeons

  • Strengthen bonds between characters

One major gameplay mechanic is the game’s limited-time preparation system, forcing players to carefully choose how they spend time between matches.

🌍 Exploration Between Battles

One of the biggest additions appears to be the expanded world exploration.

Between Heroic Games matches, players can freely move around areas to:

  • Gather resources

  • Discover new allies

  • Train at special locations

  • Gain experience through side battles

This structure gives the game a stronger sense of progression outside combat and may become one of the most ambitious Fire Emblem systems yet.

📦 Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Dagdan Collection

Nintendo also revealed the Dagdan Collection, a premium special edition launching alongside the game.

The collection includes:

  • Full game

  • Steel game case

  • Artbook

  • Character art cards

  • Map of Dagda

The special edition is already expected to become a popular collector item among Fire Emblem fans.

🎮 Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo lists the game as featuring:

  • TV mode

  • Tabletop mode

  • Handheld mode

  • Single-player gameplay

  • Estimated file size: 29.5 GB

The game will also support Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud.
