Sarah J. Maas Reveals ACOTAR 6 and 7 Titles, Covers and Release Dates

Big news for ACOTAR fans: Sarah J. Maas has officially revealed the titles and covers of the next two A Court of Thorns and Roses novels.
A Court of Splintered Harmony, the sixth book in the series, will be released on October 27, 2026, followed by A Court of Forgotten Melody on January 12, 2027.
The announcement arrived through back-to-back posts on Maas’ Instagram account, while digital billboards featuring the new books appeared simultaneously in New York City, Los Angeles, and Denver.
The covers also revealed an important new detail about the story: the upcoming novels form part of The Valkyrie Cycle.

The story begins with Feyre Archeron, a hunter whose life changes after she kills a faerie wolf and is taken to the magical lands of Prythian. What follows is a sweeping saga filled with:

Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses, Throne of Glass, and Crescent City books have collectively sold more than 85 million copies in English, with her work published in dozens of languages around the world.
🧩 The New ACOTAR Books Tell One Massive Story
Sarah J. Maas has explained that the upcoming ACOTAR storyline should be viewed as one enormous continuing story, rather than a traditional trilogy in which individual character arcs are neatly resolved within each book.
During her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Maas explained that she did not want to force herself to return to ACOTAR after so many years away from the series. Instead, she waited until she found the story she wanted to tell.
The newly revealed covers now provide another clue about that structure.
A Court of Splintered Harmony is identified as The Valkyrie Cycle: Movement I, while A Court of Forgotten Melody contains Movements II and III.
That strongly suggests readers should expect the two novels to be closely connected parts of a larger narrative.
🔮 What Will A Court of Splintered Harmony Be About?
Maas has not yet revealed a full synopsis or confirmed which characters will take center stage in A Court of Splintered Harmony and A Court of Forgotten Melody.
The phrase “The Valkyrie Cycle,” however, is likely to generate plenty of discussion among readers familiar with the events of A Court of Silver Flames.
For now, Maas is keeping the story itself secret. The two official clues remain:

A Court of Forgotten Melody: “What was lost will be reclaimed.”

📺 Is the ACOTAR TV Series Still Happening?
The previously announced A Court of Thorns and Roses television adaptation is no longer moving forward at Hulu.
The project had originally been developed by Disney’s 20th Television and Hulu, with Ronald D. Moore working alongside Maas. The adaptation was ultimately scrapped in 2025, and the television rights have since reverted to Maas.
That means ACOTAR could potentially receive another adaptation in the future, although no replacement television or film project has been officially announced.
That is cleaner and avoids suggesting something new is already happening.
