Nora Roberts is already beginning to build her 2027 release calendar, with a new standalone thriller, a paperback edition of one of her 2026 novels, and a new edition of a classic MacGregor story currently scheduled for publication.

The biggest release so far is The Missing, a new hardcover thriller arriving May 25, 2027. Macmillan describes the novel as a story of danger, courage, and love lost and found, following Rye Tremayne, a man with a lifelong talent for finding missing people and solving problems who eventually turns that ability into a profession.

May 25, 2027 — The Missing

The biggest Nora Roberts release currently scheduled for 2027 is The Missing, a brand-new thriller arriving May 25.

The novel follows Rye Tremayne, who has shown an unusual ability to find missing people and solve mysteries since childhood. As an adult, Rye turns that talent into a business, taking cases involving missing teenagers, stolen vehicles, and other investigations that send him across the country.

Despite his travels, Rye continues returning to his hometown of Solitary, Michigan, where his family, his past, and the possibility of a future relationship remain. But his latest homecoming puts him in the path of someone determined to take away everything he has worked for.

In fact, Macmillan has already confirmed Perfect in Death, a new J.D. Robb novel scheduled for February 2, 2027.
